What is the Math Editor?
The Math Editor is a built-in equation editor accessible via the √x button. It allows teachers and students to insert mathematical expressions with correct formatting, making math concepts clearer and easier to read in any Brisk context.
How do I find the Math Editor?
The Math Editor is available in two places:
- Teachers — Open a Boost activity, then click the √x button in the prompt box. The equation editor will open, where you can build and insert your expression.
Students — In the Boost chat, students can use the √x button to insert math notation in their responses.

Does the Math Editor work on all Boost activity types?
The Math Editor is available in the Boost setup prompt and in the student chat across all activity types. Styled math formatting (rendering) is also available across all activity types.
Can students use the Math Editor on Chromebooks and iPads?
The Math Editor uses a virtual keyboard for equation input. On devices with physical keyboards, students can also type equations directly. Please flag any device-specific issues you encounter.
