As roster data is updated throughout the year, it's important to understand how that change affects teachers' accounts, classes, and student data. This is especially important during the rollover period between school years. This article outlines what teachers will and won't have access to after roster data is removed
Teacher Account Access
Removing a teacher from the roster moves their account from the School & District plan to the free Educator plan. They will retain access to Brisk, but only at the feature and usage level available on the free plan.
Classes and Students
Rostered classes are removed from the teacher's account when they leave the roster. Students who were enrolled in those classes through the roster will also be removed from the teacher's view.
Manually created classes — including any students who joined through a Boost Activity link — are not affected. These remain fully accessible to the teacher.
Resources Created With Brisk
Documents, presentations, and forms generated by Brisk remain in the teacher's Google Drive or OneDrive and in their Brisk library. Roster changes do not affect these files.
Bundles, Podcasts, and Boost Activities not tied to a rostered class remain available in the teacher's library.
Boost Activities associated with a rostered class currently become unavailable when that class is removed. We are making improvements to this workflow so that data is archived and available for the 2026 Back to School season.
For now, teachers who want to retain access to an activity should duplicate it before the roster change takes effect: Recent → View All (next to Activities) → three dots on the activity → Duplicate for myself.
Student Progress Data
Student activity progress is tied to class rosters. When a rostered class is removed, the progress history associated with that class becomes inaccessible to the teacher.

| ⚠️ If teachers want to retain records of student work — such as chat histories or progress summaries — they will need to download or screenshot that data in advance. Once classes are removed, that data is no longer accessible through the Brisk interface. |
If a teacher deletes a Boost Activity directly, the student progress associated with it also becomes unavailable.
